Gamepad Tester

Connect your controller and press any button to begin testing inputs, drift, and vibration.

No Gamepad Detected

Please connect your controller via USB or Bluetooth and press any button.

How to Test

  • 1.Connect your controller via USB or Bluetooth.
  • 2.Press any button to "wake up" the gamepad in the browser.
  • 3.Move sticks in full circles to check range and smoothness.
  • 4.Press "Test Vibration" to check rumble motors (supported browsers only).

Troubleshooting

  • Not Detected? Try pressing a face button (A/X) or reconnecting the USB cable. Some browsers require the window to be focused.
  • Wrong Mapping? Standard gamepads use the "Standard Gamepad Layout". Older DirectInput controllers might have swapped buttons.
  • Drift? If the stick doesn't return to 0.00 center, you have stick drift. Try cleaning the analog stick base with compressed air.

Controller Diagnostics Guide

What is Stick Drift?

Stick drift happens when the controller registers movement even when you aren't touching the analog sticks. This is usually caused by wear and tear on the potentiometer sensors inside the joystick mechanism.

Use the "Analogue Axes" tool above to check for idle values fluctuating away from 0.00.

How to check input lag?

While browser-based tools can't measure millisecond-perfect input lag due to USB polling rates, you can visually check responsiveness. Press a button rapidly; if the on-screen visualizer delays noticeably, you may have system latency or a bad Bluetooth connection.

My controller isn't working on PC

Windows usually requires "XInput" drivers (Xbox controllers). PlayStation controllers often need third-party tools like DS4Windows to work correctly outside of Steam. This tool uses the raw HTML5 Gamepad API, so it detects whatever the browser sees.

Does Vibration Test work on all controllers?

Vibration (haptic feedback) is supported in Chrome and Edge for most XInput devices (Xbox 360/One/Series). It is generally NOT supported in Firefox or Safari due to privacy and implementation differences in those browsers.
